With generous support from Perth International Arts Festival the Dance Captain of Lucinda Child's company will provide a morning masterclass for up to 20 participants hosted by STRUT Dance.

Ty Boomershine's master classes are based on the Cunningham technique focusing on rhythmic, spatial, and physical clarity, combined with a sense of coordination and multi-tasking through the body. After an intense and challenging class the workshop will focus on the methodology and process specific to the work of Lucinda Childs including phrase material from the repertory.

Those participating should be professionally trained and wear appropriate clothing. Jazz, ballet or bare feet are appropriate. This class is not appropriate for children.

Please Note: This masterclass is in place of STRUT's regular professional class that will not be held on Thursday 23 February.

Bio of Ty Boomershine
Born Brookville, OH. Graduated from the Fort Hayes School for the Performing Arts in Columbus OH; worked with Susan Van Pelt. BFA in dance from Stephens College, Columbia MO; worked with Suzanne Grace/Burning Feet Dance. In New York worked with DANCENOISE, XXY Dance/Music, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, Dan Wagoner, Gus Solomons Jr., Merce Cunningham repertory ensemble, Shelley Lee, and Ton Simons. In Rotterdam, worked with Dance Works Rotterdam, in Dublin; Irish Modern Dance Theater, in Amsterdam; Karin Post, Leine & Roebana, Giulia Mureddu, and Emio Greco|PC. Teaches at schools, studios and professional companies throughout Europe and America as well as assisting Ms. Childs in the setting of her works. Has worked with Lucinda Childs since 1991.
