STRUT 10 YRS 10 HRS
STRUT dance presents an exuberant and eclectic 10hr dance marathon event marking a milestone 10 years of the organisation.

Presented as part of Fringe World 2012 and in partnership with the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA), the STRUTathon will be a bold and exciting celebration of independent contemporary dance culture in Western Australia.


As a special tribute to the diversity and quality of work made by WA independent contemporary dance artists, the STRUTathon will showcase an eclectic mix of short to mid length dance works created by WA independents over the last decade.

The event pays homage to STRUT's annual short works season, which gives WA choreographers the chance to test new ideas and new work in front of a live audience in a studio setting.

Inspired by this low-fi, experimental forum, STRUTathon will run continuously in PICA's air-conditioned Performance Space.

Between sets, the PICA bar will become a dance hub and THE place to talk dance, interact with the artists, share thoughts and creative ideas.

STRUTathon profiles the extraordinary collective spirit of WA independent dancers and choreographers who have contributed to STRUT and aims to establish the presence and intensity of contemporary dance in Perth in 2012.

So join the dance hub on Saturday 28 January 2012 and be immersed in the spirit of independent contemporary dance in WA!
