Mentorship

Deeper Engangement with Global and Local Leadership

Lucy Guerin mentorship

As a sector leader, it is STRUT Dance’s imperative to champion and advocate for the independent voice across all our programs. We are thrilled to announce a new mentorship opportunity that will enable dance artists to intimately engage with established choreographers from across Australia and the world.

The mentorship program provides bespoke access to a leading choreographer’s creative process and presentation as part of a local artist’s own artistic and career development. We were honoured that the inaugural mentorship program was delivered by Australian choreographer Stephanie Lake as she reimagined her epic work Colossus for the 2020 Perth Festival.

In 2022, we are joined by Australian Master Lucy Guerin. Read more about the 2022 Mentorship Program here

Dance Film Dance PLUS Mentorship

Dance Film Dance PLUS sees three of the participants selected from the Dance Film Dance workshops in 2021 undertake bespoke online mentorship with Aakash Odedra, Deborah May and Adelina Larsson Mendoza to develop three new dance films. This mentorship explores the intersection between movement, personal identities and nature, engaging in rigorous cross-cultural collaboration with STRUT’s chosen artists.

The successful recipients fo the Dance Film Dance PLUS Mentorship are Sarah Chaffey, Xin Hui Ong, and Isha Sharvani.
