Jonathan Burrows

The Trilogy -
A performance in two parts
STRUT dance is delighted to be hosting one of Britain's premier choreographers, Jonathan Burrows, on his first visit to Perth.
Burrows will conduct a five-day workshop for STRUT members and together with composer Matteo Fargion, will also give one performance only of his famed "Trilogy".
The performance is in two parts - you can see Part One, or Two or both. These complex, funny, enjoyable works have fascinated audiences the world over.
Part One, Both Sitting Duet (2003) was the first work created by Burrows and Fargion that took the world by storm. Funny, poignant, fast and furious the work explores the relationship between dance, music and gesture.
In Part Two, The Quiet Dance exhibits the same warmth and wit of the earlier work, with a more absurdist twist. The last work of the evening, Speaking Dance, is perhaps the funniest comprising a series of vocal games and charades that are as intelligent as they are entertaining.
"One of the most enchanting things I've ever seen." The Daily Telegraph, London.
"One of the funniest and most ingenious dances seen in New York." The New York Times.
Burrows has been the recipient of several major dance awards, including a New York Dance and Performance "Bessie" for Both Sitting Duet.
Join us for this rare opportunity to see the widely-acclaimed Burrows in action.
