Secretary - Alice Lee Holland

Alice is an independent Australian contemporary dance artist; choreographer, performer and teacher.
Her practice stems from her work in Safety Release Technique, studied with creator B.J. Sullivan (USA) as well as early training in Bodenweiser technique with Ruth Osborne (Australia).
During her time in the USA, Alice completed her Master of Fine Arts in Choreography and Performance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), the culmination of which was her full-length production, immersion.
She also performed with the John Gamble Dance Theater (North Carolina) and at The Yard (Massachusetts).
Since returning to Australia, Alice has choreographed a number of shorter works for Strut Dance Inc and Artrage, as well as her own independent project transience in 2006.
Alice also teaches and choreographs as a sessional faculty member at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), from which she received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance in 1999.
In 2008 Alice presented towards her original full-length production Preparing to be Beautiful as part of the Artrage Festival. She also created new works for WAAPA and QL2 as well as travelling to New York to create a new work for Labor Force Dances, which premiered at the Brookyn Arts Exchange in June.
In 2009 Alice has been appointed Artistic Director of STEPS Youth Dance CompanySTEPS Youth Dance Company. She continues to make her own work.
