STRUT workshops offer WA dancers and choreographers the opportunity to develop their skills and ideas by working directly with established international and national dance artists.
Dependent on the renewal of Future Moves funding the next call out for Creative Seed Residency applications will be made in November, applicants will be notified in January 2011.

Rosie Dennis is a Sydney-based performer, writer, teacher and curator. She makes work that is technically simple, emotionally evocative and has a strong connection with the everyday. Performance-maker Rosie Dennis will lead a 5-hours session for STRUT Dance that focuses on solo-performance making.
The workshop will be divided into 2-halves, the first half will focus on process - specifically how to generate material and parameters that assist in generating, shaping and structuring spoken-word content.
For the practicalities part of the workshop she will attempt to unpack the beast of self-producing and share some tips and resources that have enabled her to extend the life of a work.

Emio Greco | PC expressions of interest now open for Workshop
The International Choreographic Arts Centre Amsterdam (ICKamsterdam) is an initiative by choreographers Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten: an interdisciplinary and international workplace for prospective and established talent. From the starting-point of dance, ICKamsterdam strives for the continuous development and enrichment of dance as well as other art forms. Central to ICKamsterdam are artistic productions, talent development and knowledge transfer, reflection and research, innovation and alliance. It also houses dance company Emio Greco | PC.Bàrbara Meneses (Barcelona) graduated in 1999 from contemporary dance school P.A.R.T.S in Brussels and was a member of EG|PC company from 2000 till 2006. After two years break from the dance scene she's currently dancing with different up-coming choreographers and collaborating with ICKamsterdam- EG|PC company in different projects as well as being a guest teacher at the SNDO and MDT departments of the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (AHK). Since 2009 Barbara is assistant to Emio Greco | PC and researcher within the research project Inside Movement Knowledge.

Double Skin/Double Mind Workshop
Tuesday 28th September -Friday 1st October 9am-11am
STUDIO 3 King Street Arts Centre
(Please note: there will be no professional technique class this week)
The workshop Double Skin/Double Mind was developed by Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten in 1995. Participants will be triggered to confront their physical and potential habits. This will generate movement material that may be later used within their own creative process. The workshop aims to provide a closer understanding of the work Emio Greco/PC and experience the use of an interactive dvd-rom.
Workshop Requirements: Participants must be tertiary trained or equivalent in dance. Participants need to bring a Macintosh (apple) laptop to be able to use the interactive dvd-rom, the software is not compatible with PC computers. When applying please indicate if you can access an apple laptop for the four mornings. STRUT will have access to a small number of laptops for loan over the four days, please inform the STRUT Program Manager when applying.
To participate in the workshop: you must be a current STRUT member (or become a member), have no outstanding STRUT feedback forms, register your interest at program@strutdance.org.au and be available for ALL the dates and times for the workshop. Places are given on a 'first in' basis. Those who complete the registration form and pay by the deadline will secure a place. Double Skin/Double Mind workshop will be open up to 20 participants.
Cost to participate in the workshop: STRUT Members $44, non-members $88.
